    Default Burrowing Owl on Watch

I watched this burrowing owl scan the skies for quite some time before he called to his mate to emerge from the burrow. This was my first encounter with a burrowing owl and I took several gigs of photos of this guy and others in the Coral Gables area.

Comments and critiques welcomed and appreciated.

He means business. :) I like the pose, eye contact and BG and would add a bit space top and bottom and sharpen the bird a bit.

Great capture of the burrowing owl and I love the low angle. I agree about adding a littlle canvas to the top and bottom as well as to the right so as to off center the subject. As mentioned a little touch of USM too. Nice work and thanks for sharing Gayle.

Hey Gayle, you did good on your trip :)

We'll see you next time around ;)

Agree on adding more space and a bit of sharpening.
    Aren't they the coolest?

I added canvas and did another round of sharpening as suggested. Also, I lightened the owl in the first post and decided it looked rather washed out as posted. Should I have left that alone?

Lovely pose and killer BG. The second pose works even better. Love saturated colors.

    Paul,
Thank you so much for your directions to find these birds. I was fascinated with them.
