    Default Male Ruby-throat sunning

This is a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird that frequented my backyard for close to three weeks and he was quite tame and a poser. A slight wiggle on my index finger got him to make eye contact with me and he cooperated most of the time. This is a perch I placed over a feeder and he used it to his advantage guarding his food source from other HB's. He was molting.

You got him in an unusual pose here, which is a good thing! Good use of your index finger:) I like the thin perch, which goes well with hummers' delicate build. I also like the fanned tail, and view of the little feet. If anything I'd maybe reduced the yellow channel a bit as the BG seems a little flashy at the top half of the image.

Well done, Duane! I like the interesting pose with fluffed feathers and fanned tail. I like the bg as well. F11 was enough to get everything sharp using the natural light.

Like the interesting pose. Sharpness is great. The light is more harsh then what you would like to see but the exposure is good. Darkening the perch, especially on the right side would make it stand out less.

    Hey Duane,
Can't add much to the excellent suggestions above.......I especially like toning down the RH side of the perch. I do think you could also tweak the light in some areas....especially the tail area.....but nicely handled on this unusual pose.
