    Taken this week at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve in Arizona.

    Hi Alex - great timing to get him with his dinner.

    A different composition and cant decide whether it works or not - bird is tack sharp and some nice details in those whites.
    Think I would rather have seen the head angled a little towards us - might have tried to move around to the right a bit if possible.
    Just is not quite coming together for my personal tastes.

    Keep em coming :)

    Alex, I also think a slightly better head angle and the inclusion of the entire neck would have really made this image stronger. I also feel you have too much negative space at the top of the frame. If you have more canvas to the right I'd go with a horizontal presentation instead of vertical.

    As Lance said, you got the whites in control and good detail and the action part is certainly there.

    Love the texture in the neck feathers - wish for a different HA and some crop from the top - keep em coming.
