Default Greetings from the Finnish archipelago

I found this forum a while back and finally registered a few days ago. So here is a brief introduction about me and my photography. In about three years I have had nature photography a hobby. Because of my work, I can not shoot all year round so almost all my pictures are from spring and summer.

When I started photographing I wasn't that picky, so i basically photographed everything. The quality of the image did not matter - I had photographed a moose! Later on i got more selective, I was thinking: "The moose must be sharp," "I have to get closer" and so on. Now I have taken a step further from that and instead I try to get the moose in it's natural habitat, how my meeting with the moose is - the experience itself, so to speak. The stay in the wild has also begun to play a greater role. The "hunt" for a good picture does not seem as important anymore as it did.

I will try to participate as best I can, although my English is a bit rusty.
    (Thank god for google translate)

One more thing, the moose was just an example, I photograph other things too;)

Welcome to BPN, Jonas! Your English is pretty good so hang in there. If we don't explain something plainly enough let us know - don't be embarrassed to ask for us to explain it again!

Your story sounds like mine...I photographed everything I saw, then got more selective, then started to think about what the image should "say"...these are all signs that you are progressing in your art. I'm sure you'll find that the information you learn here will change you even further. It's great to have you with us!

    Thanks Julie!
I will certainly ask if I did not understand. It is better to know what is correct than to guess wrong.

I think everyone has a similar story. It is the way we progress and become better at what we do.

    Hi and welcome Jonas.

[QUOTEI will try to participate as best I can, although my English is a bit rusty.][/QUOTE]

I can tell you that you write English better than most Australians mate.

My first couple of years in Australia 1970s ( I come from Trinidad in the West Indies) I worked in the Silver Mines in Mount Isa with many Finns and though a few thousand kilometers away in Melbourne now I am still in contact with many of them.

They are wonderful fun loving folk who taught me all about Saunas, Girls, Drinking, Drinking, Drinking, I have since given up the Saunas and Drinking.

Welcome to a great board mate.

Thank you Cristopher! Oh my, have you given up Saunas and drinking? ;) To be honest, I'm not so fond of drinking (Finnish style) either ... But it is hard to turn down a cold beer after a long sweaty day in the woods:)

CC, Were you saying above that Jonas writes English better than most Australians copulate? A strange comparison at best....

Small world Jonas. I was born and raised in Turku and spent my childhood in archipelago on a sailing boat.

    Nice webpage you have.
