    Spectacular bird, sharpness, and head angle. Perch is a bit too much for me with all the little twigs... Background and COMP perfect. Whatta face!

    Great Goldfinch image, Jonathan. Light, BG, pose and eye contact all lovely. I see Arties point about the perch - the disturbing aspect to me is the one spike running into the bird's belly that matches his leg colour. This could probably be cleaned out quite easily if so inclined. The contrast in textures between the soft plumage and spiky perch is nice.

    Jon, this is excellent stuff. Loved the comp and pose a lot. Superb details and light. Thx for sharing...this is awesome.

    I like the sharpness but wondering if it is a tad overdone. If you back off a little, the feathers will look nice & soft ? not sure. Fantastic shot.

    What a beautiful bird! So different from the Goldfinch in the US. Tricolor Finch would be a better name for this one. You did an excellant job with your composition.
