Default Lens Coat - looking for advice

I'm interested in getting a lens coat for my 500 primarily for lens protection. That said, is there a recommended color that would suit FL shore-birding as well as marshland etc. I rarely flush a bird so it's not hugely critical, but on the other hand I don't want to go in with something that would make me more obvious to them.

    Cheers
    David

In Florida I don't think the birds care. I guess on the beach, the lighter colored one (for snowy environments I guess) might be good. I have the one that is a leave pattern (don't remember name).

I find using good technique in the field to approach birds is more important here then camo color. Now photographing deer or bear in a Florida forest might call for a different approach. So for birds in FL, I would not fret over it much.

    David--

With birds, I think that your choice of pattern is personal preference, not the birds' preference.

The Digital Camo is our the best seller right now, and it will be the most versatile should you change environments or subjects.

Agree Chris as I've just moved everything over to Digital if anything just for the change.

Wished I could get my car done in the same pattern.

Another vote for Digital Camo - if I were starting over it would be the DC pattern. I have several other non-lens items in DC and really like the effect.

    Richard -

That's really not too far-fetched... If you're truly interested in doing that, check out these guys: http://www.camowraps.com/gallery.php

I've considered it as well but it's quite expensive!

Give them time... I'm sure they'll come up with it.

Saw a Toyota FJ CRuiser in desert digital camo at a gun show this summer. Looked great!
