Image created December 2007. I was shooting Redpolls when this Tree Sparrow landed for a split second on the perch I had set up for Grosbeaks.

The colors in the bird really stand out against the grey background. Very nice.

Great pose, details and perch. I'm not too crazy about the BG, particularly the upper right.

Very appealing image Caroline and a nice presentation, but two things come to my attention (but both very minor.) Firstly, the reflection in the eye seems a tad excessive and secondly I really wish the tail tip was not touching that spruce needle. The saturation may bit a bit strong on the bird...personal taste. Quite vivid and cheerful photograph with a perfect head turn by the subject and great perch!!

Beautiful image with a wonderful pose, color and detail. The BG makes for a great backdrop for the tree sparrow. Really like this Caroline. !!!

Great contrast in colours, and amazing clarity in the overall image. Well done.

I like this a lot. The bird stands out nicely from the background and the snow on the perch adds a really nice touch.

Even the whites of the bird stand out against the Bg. Like the saturated colours and comp. Well done.

Very nice picture, I have been having a hard time getting these guys to stay perched long enough to get a shot off; they love it on the ground. My only nits are that there is something about the eye that I don't like, I can't tell if it is just the iris but it seems like there is a lot of catch light from different places. Another little thing is that the darker needles in the corner seem out of place, maybe if they were the same color as the others... It is an amazing shot though, the head turn is great and I love that it is on a perch you would naturally see this bird on, great job.
