A typical scene from the Brown house.

    James, that's chicken poop. :D

Love the image, Danny! Typical Midwest fare...I wish I had some chickens running around the old homestead. I was just wondering how they get along with all those fox photos you've posted in the past?

It's the stuff that makes retired Missourians head to Florida for the winter.

They are only out during the day and we've never lost one to a fox, coyote or red-tailed hawk in five years. They are locked up in the coop, which I call the vault, from dusk until mid-morning. Here is a shot of the new crew, two New Hampshire Reds and two Rhode Island Reds (still not old enough to lay eggs) taking a dust bath. We've never had a rooster as they are too obnoxious.

My question is what were they selling?

    Thanks for sharing!

Good one, Blake! I went back and looked at the image and it made me laugh. By the way, I was getting ready to spray herbicide on a field the other day when a carload of Jehovah Witnesses pulled up and the oldest one got out and helped me calibrate my sprayer......nice guy....very informed about farm equipment! Too bad I'm a bit of a lost cause -- religion wise.:) Sorry for the digression......
