Taken yesterday morning here in Sydney. I have seen this behaviour before but conditions were never right.

    Ofer:

Lovely. I have some similar ones of trumpeters, but I have always felt that the feather texture/contrasting red bill of black swans is really special. Excellent exposure here, and this is one bird where the blacks have to be right, even if the whites suffer a smidge.
This would be great as a valentine days card.

In a perfect world, would prefer not to have the bush? on the right, but the birds are pretty spectacular.

    Cheers

    Randy

    Hi Ofer,
Very romantic pose with great low angle and fine details. The upper left part of BG is distracting. What's that?

Simply beautiful. Love the pose and the detail in the blacks.

Hi Ofer but I am sorry to burst your bubble.

I study Swans for our wetlands in Victoria and what you are witnessing is a territorial dispute in the making.

Many folk make the mistake of thinking this is a matter of romance, it is not!

You have two males exposing their white feathers and should this continue an altercation would ensue.

    A beautiful image nonetheless.
