    Default Glacier Lily

While in the camera I underexposed this lily. Then in processing I used curves to further fade away the background and then used the watercolor filter in PS. My goal was to capture the lines and color of the flower and just enough background to anchor it.

    Comments and critiques most welcome.

Hey Nancy, Interesting effect and thanks for sharing your workflow. I think that the grain looks good and adds a bit to the image, esp. in the foliage. I might darken or eliminate the one little spot in the BG just left of the main leaf.

Nancy, I am a big fan of this look. You got it right here with the nice dark bg from the camera. I like the grain but think I would soften it a bit in the green leafy area. Very nice!

    Nice image and application, Nancy.

I like it as is, but wondered what it would look like more isolated?

Attached is a quick alternate cropping for it, FYI, I removed the large leaf and modified the bottom of the stem slightly. Just another alternative vision of your great image. ;)

Hi Nancy, Very nicely done. The dark BG really makes the flower pop, and the grain adds a very interesting effect. Both your original comp and Mark's look great.
