    Default LeContes Sparrow

Was able to find a few LeContes Sparrows last fall and on this particular day, had a low layer of clouds creating a even overcast. I only had a few chances at these up higher in the grass.

Hope you enjoyed and as always C&C welcomed and encouraged.

    Jason:

The soft light worked great here, with nice exposure, sharpness and pose in frame.
In a perfect world, I would prefer the left foot to not be obscured, and not have the flat stem behind his back, but I am sure it was a challenge to get him this cleanly.
I thought about a bit more DOF to help with the OOF feet, but that would only aggravate the BG issue, so I think you did well on that choice.

    Cheers

Up close and personal that also manages to give a sense of habitat. Quite sharp. I love the sweeping leaf skimming the bird's back. I could do without the OOF one behind the neck, as well as the bright angled one touching left edge. Well done!

    Hi Jason:
Excellent Pose and HA, I like Details and sharpness too. I think the lower side of the BG is somewhat distracting. TFS this lovely image.

I love the detail and color of this little sparrow as well as the pose. I agree with Daniel about the grass stalks. I think sparrows are tough subjects and you did a marvelous job.

Thanks for all the replies. I re-worked the image and removed some of the elements some thought were distracting.

    Thanks,

    Jason
