Default Male Leopard guarding Zebra kill.

This is Big Boy, the huge 4 yr old male Leopard standing guard over a Zebra foal he had killed
    the night before.
Whilst nothing particularly outstanding about this image it does show the difficulties in trying to track down Leopards, particularly males during the day time. We were fortunate to find this big guy out in the open and tracked him through the very dense thorn scrub where he led us to his prey which you can just make out on the right, trying to get a clear image was not easy! Almost FF, cropped top & bottom to pano.

Marc, this is fabulous! I love the clarity and colour in the eyes as well as the contact with us, the viewer. The oof vegetation around the leopard's face really draws the eye to the subject and it is a big plus only having a slight feel of the prey as it doesn't take the eye away from that wonderful face. I would probably crop some of the rhs off as I don't think it adds to the composition, but that is only my view.

I agree with Hilary. A close crop would have been even better. It is good that you got the eyes in the clear. Not always easy. Thanks for sharing.

    Marf,

I would definitely crop lots from the RHs, "pesky twigs".:p

Well Marc, I think you got the most important part of the image clear and sharp. The framing really draws the eye right to the face. I like how this worked out.

I understand your point Ken, but felt I had to include the extra RH space to include the Zebra carcass,
taking out anything less and it would have been difficult to distinguish?
