I've seen some beatiful IR images here lately, so I thought I would join the party and see how a couple of my shots are received. This was taken with a Canon 20D converted by Lifepixel using their standard IR filter. Although I can achieve the blue sky with this filter, on most shots I still prefer the straight IR B&W. Look forward to everyones thoughts and suggestions.

Dave, I really like the IR work. The tones and trees look good. I am assuming you leveled this by using the vertical edges to draw a plumb line. If not can you share with us the technique used to get an image with all of these lines properly level? There are a lot of angled lines here and I am undecided about the comp. I'm thinking about a slice off the bottom and bringing the top down just to eliminating the little hole area in the tree line. Image quality is fantastic!

Dave, I find this to be really beautiful. I'm so glad to see you posting your IR work, as I have missed it! I just love the detail in the trees and the tonal range of the image.

Thank you Denise and Kerry. it's fun to get out the IR camera once in a while to play. I won't be so afraid to post some images here in the future. Denise, to be brutily honest, with so many angles, I didn't pay much attention to the levelness of this shot. Shame on me :(. After you mentioned it, I opened the crop tool in LR3 and used the angle slider to align the bridge to the level grid. It was quite a bit off. I also cropped from the top (removing the hole in the tree line), and up from the bottom to remove some shadow area. To me it looks improved, now for some votes from others? :D

Dave, I think it looks better. I'm glad you gave it a try and told us all how to do it. Thanks for the leveling tip:)

Dave, the repost is perfect. I love all the angles and shadows contrasting with the foliage. I hope you post lots more:)
