A pair of Galahs photographed on Kilcowera Station, western Queensland. Male and female Galahs have similar plumage, but can be distinguished by eye colour - male at left, female on the right.

    Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4x, tripod, ISO 400, f/10, 1/1250. Vertical crop from horizontal image.

    Simon,

Galahs! I like the image, light is nice and I like the comp with the diagonal perch. Sharpness is good although the Male's catch light looks a little strange.

For people that have not been fortunate to photograph these guys, I would guess 99% of BPN'ers, these birds are so loud, crazy, and mischievous its unbelievable. They are a amazing to watch. They seem to be a over Aust and I love to see them although I guess most Australians that have to deal with them might not agree.

I miss Australia! I hope to get over there 2011.

    Robert

    Very pretty image Simon!
If anything would consider adding some canvas to the bottom to keep the 2:3 ratio. That's only my personal taste though....;)
