Just back from the Pribilof Islands in the Bering sea where we took ten participants on six days of bird photography. There are so many incredible photo opportunities on this amazing Island that it is hard to pick out some to show. I can't wait to do it again next year.

Hello Alan,
Beautiful subject, well exposed and tack sharp.
I love the eye contact and view of the wings.
IMO the subject's wing tips are a little close to the frame edge and I would prefer the landing gear to be up (in a perfect world):).

Oh man, Alan...great dorsal view of this guy!! Perhaps a bit tight at top and bottom edges as James' mentions, but an all around great image. Sounds like you had alot of fun!

Great question Artie. The winds were so strong that it was predictible to know where and when the birds were banking, allowing to shoot vertically. That way I could get the whole bird in the frame, where as I would have clipped the wings if horizontal when the bird was close (I have many more shots that are full banking shots that do a better job of making my point)

The weather was always overcast with fog. One sunny day (first day) no rain all week.

Yeah, this was at the walk down to "Ridge".

One of my favourite sea birds. Great detail and exposure and the dorsal view shows the bird off to its best.
