    1/800 sec, f/5.6
    Mode: Manual
    Metering: Evaluative
    ISO: 800

This cub has some sharp grass or possibly porcupine quails in the nose. Did not seem to bother her much. Working about 60 feet away, f/5.6 gave me about 6 inches DOF at 840mm.

I am debating on the strand of grass on the left (two long strands) and right (small one LR) edges not connected to the main body of grass - I will be cloning those out.

Hi Robert, Beautifully handled! Tack sharp and well placed within the frame. Pleasing backround, even lighting with a bonus of him munching on grass.
Grasses are a minor issue and agree about removing them...

    Hi Robert,

I like this very much! This cub certainly projects personality. It's gaze, quills in nose, and the long blades of grass in the cubs mouth makes this special in my opinion. Nice smooth background that really displays the little guys very nicely. The exposure and sharpness look great. Thanks much for sharing.

Robert, striking image. The cub seems to have a smile on it's face. Beautifully done IMHO.

Marvelous, those quills must be painful. The grass on LHSdoes not bother me at all, I am looking at the face.

Top shot Robert. The grass on the left does not bother me at all and the grass in the mouth takes this over the top. Excellent IQ for 840mm.

I love everything about this image; The eye contact, the grass in the bear's mouth, the clean background and masterful use of narrow dof - It's a winner. You captured a great amount of detail in this one. Not sure about the grass blade on the left edge, but I would have probably removed it.

Robert - beautiful image and the grass does not bother me at all. I really like how you captured some life in the eyes.

A very good image. Well exposed & sharp with a great expression. I think the stuff on her nose is grass seeds.

Love it, especially whatever it is that's stuck in her nose. Such a great expression and beautiful bg.

We did not think that because after multiple times the face got buried in the grass and the things in the nose did not move we figured they were stuck in it. I think I will go back to my images and confirm that however. Thanks for the alternate suggestion on what they are.

    Excellent Robert,
Great DOF and concentration on the eye and mouth.

I agree that the sharp grasses left and right side edges need to go.

    Cheers

Great image Robert - I love the relaxed pose with the mouthful of grass and you have really captured some beautiful textures in the bear's fur. I find my eyes immediately drawn to those bright spots on the nose though (you can't help it - the grass points you right at them!).

I too agree with cloning out the aforementioned blades of grass.

    Regards,
    Jeff
