Default Cropping Question-Red necked Grebe and baby

The subject was centered with a ring of water lines extending from the bird body.
I elected to offset the bird to the upper-outer quadrant and leave the water circle only to the one side.
Any suggestions on other cropping s and why you would consider that ?
    Thanks

Charles, I think you went the right way with the crop since both birds are looking to the right in the image. I would suggest cropping a bit more (maybe halfway from the bottom to the waterline) off the bottom to make more of a pano crop and eliminate some foreground and reflection.

Very nice capture and low shooting angle. Love the details and colors. I might tone down the highlights in the breast area if it were mine. Good job!

I am fine with the crop and was gonna suggest a crop from the bottom till Kerry beat me to it :)

Agree. With the birds looking right this is the right crop. If only the adult and looking at me, I would investigate a central placement with the rings around the bird on both sides.

Hi Charles -a s presented is fine with me also - Now if the chick had turned its head a little towards you and put it up a fraction more - would have been awesome - Gotta get some HA guidelines out there to these birds so they know what us photographers are after ;)
A little CCW - Dont know if its just a illusion but feels to be tilted to the right a little.
    Keep em coming :)
