For me the best part of the nesting season is when the young Skimmers learn to fly and skim. Not yet confident enough to go out in the ocean , they learn to skim along the shore. They don't get anything other than an education.

Very nice, low angle image. Might take a bit off the top, and maybe a little bit of CW rotation.

    Jory,
I think a clockwise rotation would put the subject on a strange angle??????

You may be right, but I thought levelling the water/horizon might outweigh the effect on the bird. Birds seem to take any angle they want when in the air, and not bother me, but our brains seem to want horizons/foregrounds to be level.

Knowing the slope of the beach this looks fine to me. And a fine image as well. EXP and SH good. And love those pillows of waves.

Joe, I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing these juveniles skimming. Nice lighting and the waves in the background are nice.
