    Default Cat on Cat

A grey catbird on a cattail. Backyard setup. Early morning just before the sun came over the trees.

Excellent shot of this common but secretive bird. Very nice BG with the bird well exposed, sharp with good detail and a perfect HA. Rufous rump showing and complimentary perch are a big plus.

V Nice - for my personal tastes a little tight - Like the pose - sharp as a tack - Good BG - much to like!!
Is this similar to the Ozzie catbirds??? - What does the call sound like??

The call typically consists of a long series of short duration joyous whistles, squeaks and gurgles. When a predator is sensed, they emit the classis "meow" that sounds just like a cat. The first time I heard one, I actually thought it was a cat! You never forget it!

I did crop it kind of tight to show off the feather detail and felt the semi-lookback pose with the head turned back could handle it.

Sounds very similar to ours - certainly not a call you forget in a hurry.
