Amazing how much energy these Sanderlings and Sandpipers use up running back and forth from the waves. They always remind me of those little wind-up toys with the feet on the bottom;). Cropped for comp.

Loved this one a lot Joe. Low angle, bird parallel, light and exposure are perfect. Raised footand hint of reflection add a lot here. TFS

A beauty, Joe. Ditto Kaustubh's comments: lovely pose, comp, bg, exposure. Great low angle capture.

Now that bird is square to the sensor. Soft light, right on sunn angle, very good head angle, and a nice raised foot. All good. See you soon. I am in Holbrook :)

Very nice details and great comp. The raised foot adds some interest. I think the dark spots keep the image from looking sterile and I'm glad you kept them in. I might evict the dust bunnies though.;) Great looking image as always Joe.

Good low angle Joe, and the raised foot adds interest. I would maybe take a bit off the top. Another vote for cleaning the bunnies.

Lovely image Joe. I like the low angle here, and you've done well to get this bird in mid stride.

What type of bird is this?

Thanks Joe. We do see a couple of these a year, but they are not very common and are usually in non-breeding plumage.
