This is one that I cropped to square format rotated 90 degrees converted into B&W used Gaussian Blur and then selective USM on the eye. I used 75-300 @300 mm ISO 400 f7.1 @1/400 sec on a tripod.

Surreal and gray for sure :) You might try a version revealing more of the detail in the face and nose.

I like the image as presented..has that "as stated above" surreal look...agree mouth details should be visible
I like the look you have created here Jim. It kind of reminds me of Kerry's last post. I'll have to give this look a try. Artie makes a good point about some more detail. It's an interesting effect.
Jim, I love the effect that you have created here. It is different and I love the smoothness of it. I agree that more detail around the mouth might benefit the image. This has a dream-like quality :)
Jim, I really like the effect - it looks so watery (almost like a tadpole) and very surreal. It would be interesting to see more detail in the mouth.

Hi Jim, nice look. I like it! Does have that misty, ethereal look. I would vote for sharpening the eye a bit.
