Saw my first Saltmarsh (Sharp-tailed) Sparrow two weeks ago at Sandy Hook (with ID help from the BPN ID Forum). Funny how it happens, having seen one, I then saw another on Saturday at Brigantine. I'm advised this is a juvi. Couldn't get the nice clear shot and beautiful bg of Denise's Seaside Sparrow or Charles' White-crowned from recent posts, but at least I got lots of habitat. (Some of which had to be removed from the bird.) ;) C&C welcomed and appreciated.

Hey Bill, doing the splits - Ive seen other species holding on to two different perches. Super pose, and I like the eye. Captured in his typical enviroment.
Bill, This shows the environment well. I like the pose with the spread legs. Nice head angle. I'm not crazy about the shadow line across the bird but you did a good job getting a clear shot.
Thanks Stuart, Joe and Denise. I'm not crazy about the shadow line either, although one might say it's part of the reedy environement. I took out several reeds across the bird (traces are still evident), and thought about taking out the shadow, but figured that was one intervention too many.
Like the spraddle and the sharpness. The shadow hurts this one big time.
