I thought I'd post this following John Chardine's earlier today. This bird belongs to the same species, Numida meleagris, but to the subspecies mitrata, found in Southern Africa. As Stuart Bowie noted, they really look very different.

This one is a wild bird from near Cape Town, shot on a rainy day.

    Ignacio,

For me the soft light is excellent and the colors and sharpness are just great.

The only weakness of the image in my eyes is the composition. I would crop off the bottom section and place back line diagonally as a Horizontal or make the image a vertical.

I have bad memories of these guys. When I was in SA last time they would always go after my toes when I wore sandals. My GF thought it was the funniest thing ever but it was really painful for me.

Nice to see Ignacio. The various subspecies really are quite different. Agree with the above. I wonder of you have enough detail to make a tighter crop on the head?

I am OK with the flower but not with the broken stalk there... Easy to get rid of that if you chose to do so. Lot's of ways to go on the COMP. Would love to see the full frame ORIG. Best option: get closer for a head portrait.

These Guineafowls are so photogenic. You captured such sharp detail and I like the soft light.
