These birds in flight are devilish fast - they need to be as the terns are circling ready to steal the eels from their beaks!

Deborah, I like the approach angle, and you have brought out the underwing detail nicely. Comp wise, I would take off at least half on top, and maybe selectively sharpen the head.

Nice in flight pose. I would only critique the center crop and leave more canvas in front, less behind for the bird to fly into the image.

Good flight capture but head looks a little soft.
I especially like wing position and the bright trailing feet.

Hi Deborah, I also like the incoming flight pose. I agree that moving the bird up and to our right might be a viable opinion. I thought I would give it a try to see how it looked. I liked it so I am posting as a visual. It is up to you if it enhances the presentation or not. Oh, I selectively sharpened the head a bit. Nicely captured and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Phil, your version is a significant improvement. Agree with all that the head is a tad soft (should have had a greater DOF) but was afraid to oversharpen it. Your version looks much better!!

I can only agree with all compliments above and us Stu mentioned the angle towards you a huge plus. I like the comp in Phil's post.
