    Default HMWYBS- Wild Turkey

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT! I used Lightroom and Photoshop CS5 for this effect. There was a big fight among the gobblers, they didn't seem to like this one guy. He took a karate chop to the neck. I played around with the filters in Lightroom then went to photoshop for the final touches.
    Hope you Like it.

Janet, I enjoy love your turkey images and this is no exception. Beautiful high key BG and very nice processing. It may be a tiny bit tight up top. An option for the missing turkey head may be to select one of the other heads(most likely the one on the top of the frame) and make a selection and put it on it's own layer, then using the free transform command move it and angle it and re-size it to fit on top of the existing area where the head would be, feather the edges. I love the simplicity of the effect. Well done!

Janet, lovely treatment of the turkeys! It helps to simplify an otherwise busy image and I like Denise's suggestion for the missing head ;) Love the HK look and the sepia toning.

Hi Janet, I love the high key look and the action you captured. Some good advice from Denise for the obscured head. I would also add a bit of canvas at the top to accommodate that wing tip. Very nicely done!

Janet, I really like the scene and think this would make a great note card. Very nice processing -could you share how you did it? I think Denise has a good idea with the one head. I might add a little canvas up top since the wing tip is on the edge I feel it needs a buffer area. This image is well done and I like it.

    Janet,

Greetings. Great action shot & processing. I like the graphic feel to this. Would add canvas as suggested above, also perhaps a bit more contrast (dark parts) to the attacking bird's head and spread wing. Good show.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thank you all for your comments, I have re posted the image and added a head to the poor headless turkey. Your comments were all all very helpful. Here is how it was done

    1. In Lightroom 3, in the BASIC PANEL of the develope module, (A) added + Exposure about 1.40, (B) added + 18 Fill Light, (C) +10 on the black slider, (D)-23 on vibrance and -46 on saturation
    2. TONE & CURVE PANEL- (A) + 60 Darks, (B) +60 Shadows sliders, (C) + 68 Lights slider
    3. ADJUSTMENT BRUSH, at top of panel just below the histogram, select (Darken Burn) add detail back into the areas that are to bright, I used about -60 Exposure.
    4. DETAIL PANEL - Extremely over sharpen I used 150, add noise reduction to you liking.
    5. HLS/COLOR/B&W PANEL- Adjust saturation of any color to achieve the look you want.
    6. Sent to Photoshop CS5 and adjusted the Levels and Curves,..... All of these settings can be adjusted to your liking.
    Have fun, Janet
