    Default Goodbye to my buddy

    Name: spots-portrait_4.jpg
Views: 144
Size: 194.5 KB My Buddy for 14 years, Sir Spots A Lot, named by by daughter when she was young," Spots" for short, has gone on to a happier place. He was by far the best dog I ever had. I will miss him very much. I would of never believed I would of been so attached to a pet. It was hard to see him go, but he was starting to suffer. We still have his friend with us, a mixed dalmation and hound, "Bubbles' who seems to be still looking for him to come home. Thanks for looking, John

Having recently lost my dog of 15 yrs. I know what you are going through. They ask so little but give so much in return and I'm sure you'll cherish the memories.

My gosh, John, Spots was beautiful! Sure understand your feelings as we said good bye to our cat James on Tuesday. These are such tough times, but don't they leave us with wonderful memories? Thanks for sharing this image, you're in my thoughts.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and the beautiful photograph of Sir Spots A Lot. You can see the compassion and loving intent in Spots's beautiful eyes. I am so sorry for your loss, John.

Dogs like Spots are not just pets, they are cherished, beloved, and valued members of our family that give as much as they require in love and attention. Give yourself time to grieve, allow yourself to hang on to Spot's favorite toys for a while, and know that giving them to another dog is not dishonoring that memory. Having lost three cockers in one year (ex left shortly thereafter. . . I miss the dogs), I know the sadness that has enveloped you. As you know, life marches on--but give yourself time to stand still and honor Spots. Only move on when you're ready.

One of the saddest things that can happen. It seems like it never should come to an end. So sorry for your loss.

Artie, thank you. About his eyes, many Dalmations have either brown eyes or blue eyes. Some, like my Spots, have one of each. Dalmations with blue eyes tend to be deaf, but he had good hearing.

Sorry for your loss. We went through this lost month (lost our 10 y/o Bobtail Moritz) and I still have the feeling that I lost my very best friend.

Thanks for the info John. My late cat Sugar, who was a living link to my late wife Elaine, was a white cat with chartreuse lemon-yellow eyes. She was supposed to be deaf too but heard just fine. :)
