    Amongst the chaos of many Sand-hill cranes in this field (Crex Meadows area, WI, October 31st 2009), I found these three that for a second were focussed at the same point.
    Shooting Mode AE, 1/500, F8.0, Exposure Compensation +1/3, ISO Speed 1000
    Lens EF600mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x = 840.0mm. PP in Photoshop CS with Paint daub filter. Thanks for looking

    Hi Ralph, they do seem to be having a conversation here... I like the paint daubs effect on the cranes but not so much on the background. There are some halos around the birds' necks and bills that should be dealt with. Nice capture.

    Ralph, This looks like the morning coffee klatch! I think you did well with your framing. I like the effect of the paint daubs. Kerry makes a good suggestion regarding using it only on the birds and not the BG. you could always use a layer mask to mask back in the eyes. Sandhill Cranes have the coolest eyes and it might be nice to see them here a little better.

    Nice image, Ralph. Definitely looks like they're in conversation. I like the paint daubs effect. Kerry and Denise hit the nail on the head with their suggestions.
