    Default HMWYBS-Spider web and sunrise

I have made numerous photos of spider webs covered with dew and they are a favorite subject I hunt for when the conditions are right for shooting them. This is one with the morning sunrise incorporated and I don't even mind the lens flare. This was made in a grassland prairie last July. I used my 75-300 @220 ISO 200 f5.6 @ 1/10 sec. The only PP was crop, contrast, saturation, USM, and noise reduction.

Jim, All you need is a hairy spider! I love spider webs and think they make great subjects. This might make a great Halloween card. You could add some text and a spider or even a bat in the orange spot. Lots of possibilities.

Love the concept. Could go darker overall. The flare bugs me but I think that is unavoidable....

Jim, I'm so glad you're posting here. Your images are very interesting. At first glance, I didn't like the grass in the lower corner but then I saw the one in the opposite top corner and I think it balances it nicely and echoes the colors in the sun.

Hi Jim, Nice-looking spider web, and I like the flare because it looks like it could be the sun or moon behind the web. Very nicely done. I think Artie has a good idea on going darker for a more dramatic feel.

Jim, I guess I'm the only one who sees this as both web and spider. I see the lens flare as the abdomen and the center of the web as the head. Then there are, of course, way too many legs but that what spiders have anyway. Tech-wise I agree that you could lower the brightness level a bit. Very nice!

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment. I considered posting a darker version of this because it does have more of a bang to it but this actually represents what I saw that morning when looking through the viewfinder. Thanks so much for your thoughts!

Jim, great concept and very well-seen. I like it as presented and definitely think that the grasses add to the composition :)
