Taking outside my house at the Birdbath. These guys come in to drink everyday, sometimes Bushbuck too, and even Leopard and Hyena, never seen them but see there tracks regularly.

These guys have a lot of character about them Dumay and it shows in the image. Having some more detail in the snout would have been good but even in H/S it doesn't bring enough out. Could try and reduce some of the slight red in him, perhaps dropping the Red & Yellow to say -20 in the Saturation might help IMHO? Nice portrait.

    Dumay,

Repost is great improvement, must be nice to have Wildlife nearby.
I notice you mention Garonga, when I was last there many years ago there were two seperated reserves, are you now joined and are the Rhinos behaving themseles?

Yep, works for me, but more importantly how do you think it now looks?

The suggestion was a tip from Al some time back on a thread to credit goes to him if it works. May vary depending on image and may NOT always be applicable. ;)

I see the difference Steve and I like it...I am glad you pointing it out as these are the things I need to work on to improve my photography.
Hey Ken, yeah the Garonga reserve is still owned by an individual family but a couple of the surrounding reserves have all joined and become part of of the Greater Makalali Game reserve, and a new Farm/Land is about to join currently the reserve covers 26-28000 hectares and if this goes through it will go up approx 35000 hectares. Also on the reserve they are working on that revolutionary Elephant contraception, they are the only reserve researching it at the moment. And as for the Rhinos, yup they are and hopining to get Black Rhinos in the next 2-3 years (Apparently a nightmare of a process to get the permission to keep them)

I love the repost - it's nice to see a potrait of a warthog, they're more commonly seen as game kill!

How lucky you are to live in such a rich environment!
