I think you captured this moth at a perfect angle as I like the profile of that curly thing. I also like the blurred leaves and the contrast between the bright flowers and the duller moth. I would lighten up the moth using curves or somesuch to bring out some of the details. I would also crop the bottom just below the orange bud with a bit of yellow to eliminate the leaves. Wish the moth were a bit sharper. Beautiful smooth BG. I think you tool the picture at the right moment.

    Hey Allen,
I'm with Anita on the crop and lightening......this will just improve the impact on the moth and give it more room to take off into. I think the moth is sharp where it needs it and you captured an excellent wing blur and pose. BG is fantastic too! Tweak this one just a bit and you've got yourself a winner!

Great pose, Allen! I also agree with Anita.
I don't know how the noise is on the 7D but if you get another chance, maybe going to ISO 800 will allow you to use a smaller aperture so more DOF.

I have to agree with the others. You've got the start of a really nice image - just need a few more tweaks!

You have some good suggestions, above, Allen. Congrats on catching this moth on the move. :)
