    Default Great Gray Owl

    Model = Canon EOS-1D Mark II N
    Exposure Time = 1/200"
    F Number = F8
    Exposure Program = Manual
    ISO Speed Ratings = 400
    Metering Mode = Spot
    Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
    Focal Length = 400mm
    Color Space = sRGB
    Exposure Mode = Manual exposure
    Baited
    Handheld using Bushhawk
    Full Frame

    Not as sharp as I would like, but it was at 1/200 in the shade. I didn't expect him to fly almost straight at me.

    This is beautifully done. Just sharp enough on the face at 1/200 sec. to work well.

    later and love, artie

    The only thing I don't like is the perfectly centered catch light in the pupil. Apart from that holy cow what an image!! The wing blurs are terrific with lots of impact.

    Jody if I had been behind that camera I think that I would have been doing some back pedaling away from that stare. Nicely captured.

    I would like to see the head just a touch sharper, love everything else about this. Great composition & light. The intense blur in the wings really adds to this. I think the image would be over the top if the bird had a vole in it's beak instead of a pet shop mouse.
