I had way too much fun with these Common Terns. :) Photographed at Nickerson Beach, there were high clouds.

Tack sharp, with a good wing position and angle of flight. Well exposed, and you have brought out the eye nicely against the darker plumage. I like the inclusion of the grasses too. Well captured Axel.

Like the HA, wing position, compo, sharpness. Especially like the soft, earthy background, and foreground grasses, which render a "painterly" look.

Axel, BG grasses take it to another level....way to go. Stunning shot to say the least.

    Axel:

The grey background complements the colors of the sharp, wonderfully positioned bird. And the warm grasses below add a strong artistic touch. Bravo!

Wow, fantastic in every way. The grass takes it over the top for me.

Very nice Axel. High clouds are great for diffusing the light. Ditto comments already made:)

looks good Axel, like everything about it, but I would not brighten the eye, it makes the tern look a bit unnatural IMO. TFS

Super! We (I) don't see this species much on the west coast! Love the angle of the bird and the open bill!

Very nice head turn and eye contact in a very painterly habitat.

The habitat and bird pose is all good. I'd definitely run tonal contrast on the birds left wing underside to get more detail/contrast in that area.
