Ok Ok, I forgot your smart and a thinker and you cheat! You went to Photo.net didn't you? Admit it. Now the drinks are on YOU! Congradulations Alfred!

It is the impeller for the first intake compression stage of a 20,000 lb thrust, X2, twin engine, F-18 Super Hornet fighter jet. This aircraft was designed primarily for short take offs on a carrier where real muscle was required in combonation with nearly 18,000 lbs of ordinants loaded on it. High speed manuvers are also one of it's forte's. It is a very formitable, highly deadly aircraft. I actually crawled up in the intake shaft (with permission from the pilot) to get the shot. It is the big square box looking thing on each side of the jet.

OK, you are all wrong! That is not an impeller. It is an engine device. It cuts down on radar reflections. Its unclassified installed, when uninstalled its classified. It's part number is 1671M11G07.

Now, i'll gladly have dinner with Alfred!! Who's paying!!!!?:D
