I think you have a green cast to it...Its legs should be yellow or orange in color.

Hi Oscar - agree with Bill - image seems to have a green colour cast - also looks quite soft and seems to have a possible halo around parts of teh bird also.
Maybe post the original with just a straight conversion.

oscar, congrats on your new camera, and yes the same as above, green, and i'm not sure about the soft , as your shutter sped is up there, should help if handhold is an issue. Thks for sharing.

Thanks guys! Do you think it might be the image settings? This camera sure has a lot of settings! Not as simple as my D80 for sure.
To give you an idea of the environment, it was very cloudy today. I am also thinking like Don that I might have a handhold issue.
The little guy looked quite sharp in my monitor. Just gotta keep on working on this! Thanks again.

Hi Oscar - would also not use spot metering!! Eval I think is the Canon equiv of Nikons matrix metering.
What did you spot meter from??

Hi Oscar Nothing much to do with image settings !! Image is soft out of the camera and something going on with processing ... just post original and will give it a try !!! by the way, camera performs well and I made lots of good images with it !! .. .read the manual several times !!!

Thanks guy! Alfred, I have read the manual and I am fixing to read it again plus used Arthur Morris' suggested 50D settings. Also bought a book on the 50D by David Busch.
I am happy with the gear, it is quite a machine! Just got to get the operator up to snuff. Were you shooting in Wako yesterday? Saw a couple that looked like you guys.

One more question: could it be the white balance? I accidentally had in AUTO.

    Happy shooting!

Hi Oscar, agree with others on the cast and sharpness. Looks like a HH issue due to the SS.
