    Default Mallard Chick

    I just captured this image a couple of days ago so, I am guessing that this might have been a second hatch.

    Taken with 40D and 400 f/5.6 AV Mode ISO 100 1/160 sec f/5.6

    Nice Photo. I love the flowing BG and the sharpness and color of the chick.

    Cure little fellow. I like the open beak and the kick-back leg. The water in front of the chick is very lovely. The observations that I find distracting are;
    1. The head angle: for this pose to work the head angle needs to be parallel. As presented with the head angling away is the biggest issue for me.
    2. I would have liked a greater depth-of-field that would have allowed the left foot to be in or at least more in focus. I would have increased the ISO to try and gain more depth of field.
    3. I would try and tone down the highlights on the bill.
