This image of three Black Skimmers and two Ring Bill Gulls was taken at Merritt Island causeway.

Modifications in CS4 included; Fractalius, Blur Zoom; Shadow & Highlight and other normal PS image adjustments. The red bills were repainted during the process to accent the image.

    Enjoy!

Mark, My immediate reaction was that there is too much going on in such a small space. I also would loose the left bottom gull -I didn't even know it was a gill until I re-read your explanation of the image. The zoom is fantastic and I like the fract. work. I would love to see this re-worked as I feel it has a lot of potential.

Nice composition, Mark. I would also agree with Denise's comment. Very nice use of filters.

Hi Mark, I too agree with Denise's comments. Lovely frac work and the zoom blur looks great. I love how it looks like light rays are radiating from the rightmost skimmer.

Thanks all for viewing and comments. I decided to give this one a try, but due to unknows, I had to start over from scratch.

Modifications this time included; Topaz Detail & Adjust; Fractalius and Zoom Blur, as well as normal PS adjustments.

Hi Mark, I would like to see the original version with both the top and bottom birds removed, leaving only the three skimmers. That would really do it for me, but as you say...

I agree Kerry that it would be another vision. I looked at that but settled on this as it offers the "contrast" between the two species. I am new to Fracts and really wanted the bottom bird to also work, but when posted agree it didn't do as I hoped. I might reexplore this if Denise ever has a Fracts week and see if I can get a better vision. I personally would like between the two, for the fract effect. But, I still have to practice, practice and practice, as I'm finding that all the slider setting mean a lot in fract images. Good news ... bad news. ;) :D
