    Default The grab

Thanks to everyone that looked at my swan shot.

This is from a shoot In Iowa along the Mississippi River.
The eagles in the winter gather around the lock and dams in order to find open water to feed.
This was taken near one of the lock and dams.

    Canon 30D, Canon 400L f5.6 using A.I.Servo for focusing.

Like the composition. i think size of the subject did not really justify the amount of action involved in this image. may be a tighter crop?
Also whites are little hot on my monitor.

Great light but have to agree on bird size. Good posture and did well to get him flying towards you. Excellent timing.

Thanks guys, but a tighter crop isn't possible.

This is the 800 X 533 equivalent of the 1200 X 800 post on my site.
That was made from an 1800 X 1200 crop of the frame from the camera.
The full framer is here: http://davev.smugmug.com/photos/263271045_4ZBv5-L.jpg

For about $10,000 more, I could have gotten a little closer.:D
