Hi Eileen Getting a Bfly in the air is no easy task !!

Wish you could have caught the bug more to the left and placed closer to a corner !!! I think you made the best possible image form your position. In PS you can try blurring the bg a bit more to isolate the Bfly ... just make a layer, layer mask and Gaussian blur then just erase the part you don't want !!

Thank you for the input. I will definitely work on the PS tips. This is a shot that I thought I had missed. I will take your suggestions and hints and give it a try. Perhaps I can apply these to the original shot & see what I can do with it. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Elleen - talk about good timing - dont think I have seen a butterfly in flight as yet - Will have to update the acronym for BIF - Butterfly in Flight :)
A tough shot for sure and IMHO no easy task - gotta take what BG you are offered. IMHO - Feels a little tight on the RHS - some more space there might have been good.
    Keep em coming :)

Hi Elileen do you belong to the South Jersey Camera club, if not why don't you consider joining?

I have shot many a butterfly and never got one in flight. WOW WOW what a good shot. Love the coiled tenticle. It does seem to have some noise in it. If you can try getting it out it might help.

Thanks for taking a look at my shot I certainly appreciate the pointers. I get a little hesitant to cut too much out. I appreciate the input. :)

I believe this is one of those once in a blue moon shots. I was thrilled when I saw what I had captured. I am still learning and I usually don't venture out on my own. I usually shoot with my husband but summertime is a bit busy for him. I will check out the noise in the shot.

Hi Eileen, good advice above...I might add that I would crop a bit off the top. Would add to the strength of the butterfly...
