    Default Great Crested Grebe

Exceptional rains had flooded an outback lake in wetsern Queensland and numbers of Great Crested Grebes had gathered to breed. The birds allowed quite a close approach.

Great low shot -- I like the water droplets and that gorgeous red eye

Gorgeous bird, pose, light, raised crest, and water. Cropping out the hint of the head would improve it a bit for me. The head angle is perfect for the bird's body position.

Beautiful shot with great light and angle. Water droplets on the grebe are a great bonus.

Great pose in sweet light, the highlights in the face could use some toning down. Nice and sharp with lots of detail. Congrats!

One of my favourite birds in the world. Lovely shot, with a nice pose and good colours. The water droplets make this one for me. I would probably also take a bit more of the bottom. Well done in any case. TFS

Super low perspective, and overall good light, details and sharpness. I would maybe remove the second catchlight.
