    Default Feathers. Carnival No 1

    Hi Everyone,
This is the first in a series of ten images entitled 'Carnival.' It tells the story, in images, of a night spent at the Rio Carnival, and in the above image our hero entices the viewer to dance the night away with him in the steamy tropical heat...
OK that's quite enough of my over-active imagination :D

HH, cropped for composition and canvas extended slightly at the top.
Once again, this was Butterfly World in S Florida, so captive birds. Behind part of their enclosure is a large expanse of white plastic sheeting, so I waited until the bird was in front of this before pressing the shutter as I was after the studio 'look'.
    Looking forward to your C & C's.
    Warmest to all,
    Nicki

Very nice compo and colors, Nicki, really reminds me of the dancers. A bit more DOF to cover the lower feathers would have been nice, unless you blurred this on purpose ;)

Nicki, these Macaw's never fail to produce quality images, and you have certainly showed it here. I like how the head is tucked into the feathers, and you captured those vibrant colours, and detail very well. I would maybe have liked a tad more above the eye.

Very interesting composition, I also like the colors and texture of of the plumage, particularly the feathers on the upper wing almost look like a flower.

Like the colours and pose Nicki, might be tempted to give more room up top for the eye:)

    Hi Nicki,
As always I love your creative vision. The colors are so wonderfully bright and I love the seductive over-the-shoulder look. Would love to see the whole series!
