    Default Feather in the Sand

Used NIK Glamour glow, reflector effects, darken/ lighten center.
Took the liquify tool and made the straight lines look like sandstone using the jitter tool.
Few other modifications. Cropped to off center.
    Comments/suggestions Appreciated.

Jackie, I was looking at this before and think that the sand has a very interesting pattern and color to it. I love this one, I am curious though and am wondering what it would look like / more feather detail. Very nice work and way to think OOTB!!! This image has given me some great ideas! :)

Wow, Jackie, that is terrific! Very creative! I would like to see a little more detail in the feather also, if possible.

I didn't know that Liquify had a jitter tool but I haven't used it much, only for slenderizing friends and facial fixes. ;)

    Nice image and application, Jackie.

Like the effect. Question, is the lower part lighter do to the zoom effect. Might be nice to darken the lines on the bottom a little, if possible. But nice image.

Very creative, Jackie! The sand has a very interesting wood grain look to it that I like. One more vote for more feather detail, I think that might take it over the top. :)

Didn't have a lot of texture to work with so I masked back in the original feather and got the tips. Used the dry brush for the individual feathers and dissolve mode (to simulate sand). Any better? Thanks for the suggestions. Mark I liked the light to dark transition form corner to corner:) Forgot to mention, that the base image was also frac'd in B and W 1 for the black lines.

Jackie, your rework is just right and I think it did go over the top... The detail in the feather make my eye think that it is much closer than the bg, so it looks like it is floating. Very nice!
