I went back to the same place this morning that I had photographed an adult Green Heron yesterday (Artie corrected my error of calling it a black-crowned night heron). This juvenile (I think) was hunting at about the same place, and with some success, though I was not positioned at the right angle when it caught a small fish. I hope I have done a better job processing this image. C&C, please.

Wendell, the plumage is still a bit light it and lowered the Curves adjustment on just the plumage. After that, I went into Selective color and added 4 points of blacks to the neutrals to add a contrast boost. Hope you like it.

Look-back pose and soft light look good. I like the idea to increase contrast and/or adjust curves.

Fabs, so much better; yes, I like . . . little things mean a lot!

    Is this not a juvenile?

Probably, Wendell, they tend to have very colorful lores.

Great south side capture and eye contact. Bird is sharp and well exposed !
