This is what is commonly known as a pink and Grey cocky in Australia...(lots of thought went into that one huh...:D). These are quite common locally and usually feed of grass seeds etc on the ground and so are quite accessable for those poor unfortunates like me with only moderate length glass.

I saw one posted a few weeks ago and it got a few comments on its colour so I thought I would post this. I quite like the black background (is this called low key?) and I wondered what others thought. Hope you like it.. C&C most welcome..

Nice portrait. Love the color and sharpness. The underexposed background isn't doing it for me, however, that's a personal opinion.

Hi Don - Yes - you could call this low key.
The black BG may well get some comments - matter of personal taste - IMHO.
Not bad for on-camera flash - crop is not quite working for me - lets see what others say.

Hi Don, Very sharp with pleasing color.I also feel the black backround is subjective and I would crop a bit off the bottom.

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the input... Interesting to hear what others think about the background. It would be interesting to do a poll of high key vs low key. I was unsure how to crop this and settled for a little of the top and bottom and LHS to try and bring the bird into the left third. I almost took more off the bottom but decided not to...Mainly because I am wary of cropping 6MP images too much.

    regards

    DON
