    Default Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

One spring I was walking and kept hearing tapping. Finally I found the culprit up above me. The sapsucker flew down for a nice view. Only second one I have ever seen.
I removed a few blurry branches in Photoshop CS5.
Not sure about the background, there were many branches all around, used a large f stop to try to blur them out.

Very nice capture in soft light and plenty of detail in the feathers. I wish for a head turn towards you and would place him lower in the frame. TFS.

Good look at this bird -- I like it as presented with the eye placed right smack dab on upper thirds

I like the looks and the pose of this bird. I agree with Fabs on "lower in the frame" . . . and I would consider taking a sliver off the right hand side also.

Nice sharp capture Janet. If mine, I might try a version with all bg branches cloned out.
