Call it the revenge of the nature photographer. While at Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, I was driving the loop road with my long lens and beanbag to get photos of the wildlife and birds in the park so as to least disturb them. That's why they built the road there. There's also a lot of signs saying "Do Not Feed or Harass Wildlife" and most of the fields are fenced off as well. So you would expect most folks to respect the rules out there and simply view the wildlife from outside the fence.
Well, as you can expect, while I'm focusing my attention to a group of deer grazing out in the fields, I notice a bunch of nosepickers walking up towards the deer (in flip flops of course), past the sign that says "Do Not Harass the Wildlife" with their point and shoot cameras to take pics for Aunt Alice from Omaha, and thus scattering the deer even further away. I mean the deer were out there such that from my standpoint, I needed 700mm to get one to fill 1/2 a frame on a 7d. So you can imagine how close these folks had to get to get their prize winning photos.
So one look at what I was dealing with, and I of course had to take a photo to post online. So here you have it folks. Do you hear Dueling Banjos in the background? This is a full frame shot.:D
