Default Project Feathers: "I've Had Enough"

Northern Gannet at Bonaventure Island, Quebec. 7-16-10

This gannet seemed to be trying to escape the deafening noise and commotion of the 120,000-bird colony on Bonaventure Island. The bill is underneath the white feathers, all the clue I can give you about head angle. ;) Prior to reading the ground rules of Project Feather, I had also posted this image on the OOTB forum.

    Techs: 1DM3, 700 mm, ISO 400, f/14, 1/400 sec

Post: some clean-up of dirt specks on the white feathers, smart-sharpen on bird 140 / 0.3

    C&C appreciated.

That's great!! What a classic. I can only wish that there was a little bit of one eye peeping through the feathers. Nice job!

    Keith :

The texture, exposure and subtle colors are very nice here. Tight crop works.
About the only thing that would make it better is if an eye was peeking out.

Nice one for this months project!

I like the idea, soft light and mood. Maybe a tad more room at the top and left?
