    This was at the Bonsai Pipeline in January 2010 using my 7D, in AV mode at f/9, ISO 200, 0-EV resulting in 1/640 using the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS plus the EF 1.4x TC II.

    Neat shot David Looks like the wind was strong whipping the spray straight up !!! Haven't seen pics from there in a long time !!! .. wish you had a better sun angle for getting the surfer lit up !! btw hope someone comes up with a image of the giant waves they take on wave runners !!! Thanks for posting and hope you got more !!!

    January is an exceptional time to visit Hawaii's North Shore. I literally parked within 20-feet of the beach access and walked 100-feet to the Pipeline. The big tournament was in December and over, but the surf was still great and the world class surfers where still there to participate in local tournies and enjoy the waves. I only had an hour to shoot, but got several good shots. These were cropped a little, so next time I'll bring the 500mm.

    Can I post one or two others in this thread, or do I need to start a new thread for each image?

    only the light angle would have made this one better. the pipeline is something we dont even get close to seeing here in FL! that's pure power!!!!

    Sorry to say I have never been to this place but here is a hot spot in Calif just below San Francisco. I have been to pipoeline but it was before my picture taking days. Very nice shot David....almost a tube ride.
