Default Gadwall drake in last light

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Nikon D200, 70-200 2.8 +tc 1.7 @340mm. F/8, 1/60, ISO 400.

Image created in early June, late in the day. It took a few days for this drake to get used to my presence, baiting him with corn was a good way to get him into camera range. The shoreline being much higher than the lake made it difficult to get a desired low angle, but it produced a nice reflection.

    Caroline:

Sharp, well exposed, nice water. Good job with noise on this camera. The shooting angle is OK, and does work well to give a minimally distorted reflection.

    Cheers

Lovely portrait, Caroline. Great eye contact, gorgeous jade BG, nice reflection. Bird looks sharp except back of head a little soft. Maybe could use a little more room at top if you've got it. Congrats!

Sharp with wonderful feather detail. Is the bird angled ever-so-slightly away from you?

That is a very handsome bird! I love the details and the angle is fine - love the reflection too.

Beautiful. The intricate pattern on Gadwall drake is so beautiful, isn't it? Loved the calm water, water texture and the sharpness.

Beautiful as presented, with sweet colors, detail and reflection. Agree on the head angle.
