Taken yesterday at a local salt pond... settings were -

    7D, Sigma 50-500mm @ 500mm hand held
1/3200 sec, f/8 Mode: Av Metering: Evaluative Exp comp: -1 ISO: 800

Applied Topaz DeNoise on the bg and a tiny bit of s/h on the white feathers. Applied usm for the final web version. All C&C are welcome...

Hi Indranil I like the tech settings getting a strong shutter speed for hand holding the lens !! Shadows are hurting, perch looks peculiar half in shade .. did well with highlights on the bird and all sharp !!!

... with water bg do take several for picking the best image, beak is merging with the dark side of little wave and getting lost !! ... same applies for surf breaking !!!

Thanks Al. Great points to consider... I did take a series and do have other that takes care of the bg. But as you said and I agree the the lengthening shadow on the rocks does not help.

Hi Indranil, good comments by Al. The bird is nicely handled and positioned well. The shadow on the rock is easily overlooked along with the beak but are factors...
