    I really, really love these birds. Wish I had more of them from my
    Fort DeSoto #2 IPT last year...

    I like these too Doug although I don't have an image I have taken that I like yet, this one is beautifully done. The whites and blacks with that dark eye create havoc on images but you have mastered that nicely.

    Excellent exposure Doug and you even got a catchlight. I would like to see another round of USM as the beak appears a tad soft on my monitor. Congratulations on this fine image of the skimmer and thanks for sharing.

    Nice image, love the look. You have some halos around the wings from the S/H tool. You could select inside the bird with a quick mask before running S/H and keep the halos away.

    Wonderful image. Really caught the moment well. I would take a bit off the top and add it to the bottom for more room for the virtual feet.

    Love the raised wings and agree about the virtual feet. Did you do some serious work in the water around the bird's bill???
